These are two speculative townhouses, designed to beable to accommodate two families on short term stays.
They are sitting on an extreme south sloping site with wonderful views over the Shotover river below.
Grabbing sunlight is key with their pitched rooves and clearlite windows with louvres designed to maximise this.
Contrasting corten metal panels with dark stained cedar and black joinery provides a palette with instant patina, able to blend with the landscape from the outset. With two master bedrooms with flexible second living or fourth bedroom. these houses make the most of their small footprint.
These are modern, contemporary architectural homes in a new suburb of Arthurs Point, Queenstown.
We were fortunate to create the design guidelines for these and purposefully excluded gabled roofs.
This was to differentiate from other areas and to acknowledge and design too allow the sun to penetrate into the homes by use of these lean-to roofs.
