Greytown House 2

Greytown House 2

Greytown, Waiarapa - 2014

This was an opportunity to create a small home of two bedrooms and followed on from our first Greytown house which we won an award for in the national Affordable House Competition. In this we wanted something more abstract. More cubic. Less building and more object. Simple but dynamic.

The entrance is particularly mysterious. No windows or obvious doors. Just a carport with an opening, to the outside.

Interior timber panelling is used extensively and includes a secret door to the main bedroom. Two bathrooms and two bedrooms, this is a compact home with a high level of finishes. I am told it was one of the first homes to use random depth and width cedar at the time of its creation.
